Agenda's no more....
Have you ever met with one person or a group of people without an agenda. Imagine spending time with people just to get to know them, to build a friendship. Now imagine a church body that did not plot out their moves, program events so that they could be in control of the end result. I have a feeling that believers and unbelievers are experiencing the same distaste for this sort of herding. As Gil said at supper" allow our testimony be the way we live our lives, we don't have to say a word". If people recognize that they are truly cared for they may want to know why. Whether or not it leads them to embracing the gospel, a friendship has been formed that may last a lifetime.
Girls, Girls....

Tea time!!!

It is fun to see Julie's imagination develop and to watch Gil indulge and pretend with Julie. The girls love their daddy!!! Just an update, Lana now has two more teeth very close to breaking the surface, and now she will clap her hands when you sing "If you are happy and you know it clap your hands". It is such a joy to watch the girls grow.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!!

Winter continues to inflict it's fury on us Hepburnites. We covet the green grass of Vancouver, the opportunities of playing outside and being able to kick a soccer ball around. In any case, the girls love getting bundled up and going for sled rides. Lana has only bit the snow literally one time, we hit a bump that sent her toppling over, not a difficult task to upset her equilibrium. Julie now likes to pull the sled for short periods of time and then quite readily gives the rope over to me for a ride herself.

Thunder Stealer!!!!!!!

Hello all!! Well Gil said that he wasn't going to talk about the girls and their accomplishments. Well is so happens that I was checking out his blog and what do you know, he stole my next
post. So I will just post Lana's 8 month picture.
Also I am reading Searching for God Knows What, by Donald Miller, an interesting read. His style is very informal which sometimes lends the on and on style of writing but here is an interesting take on the Garden of Eden and how relationships were instantly changed.mmScripture would indicate that God had to break the relationship when man sinned against Him, that because his nature is purely good, purely right and lovely. He could not directly interact with beings who were, in their hearts, set against Him... This is a very beautiful thing because you and I need for God to be perfectly good, we need for Him to be the voice that did one day, and will in the future, speak pure glory into our lives. But for now, because of this act of war, relationshave been strained. And we are feeling it in our souls."
I think about my relationship with God and I wonder why things always seem to be a little distant. The feeling that no matter how hard I try the relationship will never be TIGHT, "we are feeling it in our souls", this gives comfort to the feeling of unfinished business. I also caution myself that it doesn't excuse an undisciplined faith walk, which I too am guilty of.
Here are my ramblings.
